The Cauvery issue is blowing every now and then in the form of protest. The last wild protest from Kannada cinema industry was when Dr Vishnuvardhana was alive. It was a Jatha from KFCC to Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum.

The Kannada cinema industry personalities on Thursday made use of the national bundh against Diesel hike and cooking Gas restriction.

The KFCC met at film chamber and protested on the demand made by Tamil Nadu for the release of Cauvery water. When the farmers of Karnataka are facing drought, paucity of water it is not possible.

It may be recalled on Wednesday Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, Deputy CM Ashok, irrigation minister Basavaraj Bommai boycotted the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh meeting on Cauvery issue when Karnataka was asked to release Cauvery water for Tamil Nadu.

‘Cauvery Nammadhu, Raithara Horatakke Chitrodyama Sampoorana Bembala’ was the placard. The human chain was formed and a few furlongs it stretch in and around KFCC office.

KFCC president KV Chandrasekhar, Sa Ra Govindu, SV Rajendra Singh Babu, Thomas D Souza, Priya Hassan, Anitha Rani, Ba Ma Harish, Banakar, NRK Vishwanath and others took part in the protest.
